Elder Chaney accepted Christ at the young age of 16 at Christian Way Church of God in Christ, in New York. Over the years, through praise, worship, and his commitment to God, he has matured his relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Elder Chaney served as a member of numerous gospel quartet groups. One of his favorites was David Milner and Company. He started playing the saxophone, lead guitar, and bass guitar at the age of 12.
He is now trying to advance on the keyboard and organ. He accepted his call into the ministry in 1972; he was licensed to preach the gospel in 1974 and later ordained in 1982 at Oakwood Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop W.S. Harris, second jurisdictional Bishop in the state of Alabama. Elder Chaney joined the military in 1978. During his military service, he balanced his spiritual walk and military career while obtaining a Bachelor of Theology with a major in religious studies. Elder Chaney retired from the military in 1998 in the beautiful city of El Paso, TX. He was one of the charter members of Sun City Christian Fellowship Baptist Church, where he served as executive pastor for six years. It was in El Paso where he first met his future wife and longtime friend, Janae Dixon, in 2010. After 12 years of friendship, she finally said yes, and they married on May 13, 2022. They have three wonderful children, Ramya, 18, Arshay, 15, and Desanae, 13. Through Elder Chaney’s teaching and preaching, with insight from the Holy Spirit, he brings some of the most complex scriptures and texts to life. One of his favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13(NKJV) 13. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Elder Chaney now serves as Senior Pastor at Fellowship of Love Christian Center, 3800 Olympic Ave,
